Volunteering

One of the ways that you can make a difference is by volunteering to work at SCIAF. It’s a great way for young people to experience our work and get involved in different areas.

It’s an opportunity to:

  • Use your skills
  • Make a difference in an area that you feel strongly about
  • Gain work experience
  • Put your faith into action

What can you do?

Work experience

Arrange through your school to complete your work experience here at SCIAF! We can offer expertise in advocacy, campaigning, educational resources, communications, fundraising and international development.

Blog for us

Upload your stories about how you’ve spread the word about SCIAF’s work in your school and parish. Share your photos so we can all see what a great job you are doing.
We want to hear about everything, big and small so we can inspire Scotland to join us in creating a just world.

Be a SCIAF speaker

Lent is a very busy time for SCIAF as schools and parishes remember the act of giving to some of the poorest communities in the world. We deliver hundreds of talks to schools and parishes every Lent and it would be amazing to see young people share our message of hope with enthusiasm.

Complete your Caritas Award

Since the introduction of the Caritas Award we’ve been helping young people to complete their required voluntary work. This has included delivering Lent talks to primary schools, writing blogs for our website, organising fundraising events and much more. It doesn’t have to stop there though, let us know how SCIAF could help you achieve your award. Get involved!
