The health clinic funded by SCIAF relies on volunteers, like Ernesto, to provide physiotherapy. Physiotherapy is very important because many people were injured in the earthquake which hit El Salvador in 2001. Ernesto explains that the COMUS clinic offers better service than the government clinic, “It is cheaper, gives better treatment and uses many natural medicines which people often prefer.”
