This is Moses, and his son, with various bags of seeds which they have been able to grow with the help of SCIAF. Moses is a star pupil of the Kasisi Training Centre and he gives other farmers his top tips for organic farming. These include:

1. Do not burn your fields

2. Grow different types of crops

3. Grow beans and vegetables to improve soil

4. Make manure tea

5. Plant trees

6. Use animal dung on your fields

7. Do not use chemical fertilisers.

Thanks to the techniques he learned, Moses and his family had an abundant supply of food even during the worst part of the famine. See a video of Moses' Story
