When the seeds have been planted it is important that there is enough water for them to grow properly. At the Kasisi Training Centre farmers learn how to use treadle pumps which pump water from a stream into the field. The pump works a bit like a step machine in a gym and is easy to build and maintain. This pump helps farmers grow lots of crops even in the driest weather.
