Environment factsheet

Ignorance, greed, and poverty induced by the rich world are combining to destroy our ecosystem, especially in the developing world. Consumers in the industrialised world want more and more cheap products, energy, cash crops, and hardwoods. This is putting pressure on poor communities, who are also forced to destroy their own environment in order to survive - like food crops and firewood for fuel.
