Dundee S6 Conference

December 2008

It was a day of discovery in the City of Discovery when S6 pupils from Dundee were given the task of competing in an election to run the country for a day.

The 170 pupils were attending a conference organised by Dundee's RC secondary schools and supported by SCIAF. The conference provided space for senior students to look at faith and justice issues in relation to Curriculum for Excellence. The task was really tough as pupils worked in groups to face up to big challenges such as tackling climate change, reducing crime and helping people in developing countries escape from poverty.

However, pupils proved themselves more than capable and SCIAF expects a new generation of politicans to emerge from Dundee in coming years. Watch this space!

Thanks to all for your great ideas, participation and for making the day so fun.
