The Fair Trade and Enterprise Group of Holyrood Secondary in Glasgow could teach Sir Alan Sugar [from the BBC’s The Apprentice] a thing or two about running a business.
They made Easter cards for the S6 Leaver’s Dance [with all profits going to SCIAF] as well as bookmarks and tartan ribbons for St Andrew’s Day.
The group are also passionate about Fairtrade and sold a staggering £2000 worth of Fairtrade products at their Christmas Craft Fair. They’ve also got plans to open a Fairtrade café and have been developing their ‘ethical guru’ website idea that will allow customers to find the most ethical companies around.
They’ve also taken their Fairtrade message onto the streets of Glasgow by taking part in the Lord Provost’s procession and running training on ‘ethical practice’ at the Lighthouse arts venue in Glasgow.
Move over Sir Alan – YOU’RE FIRED!! This group has proved that you can succeed in business and make the world a better place at the same time. Well done to all!
