June 2008
St Andrew’s High in Kirkcaldy has many reasons to be proud of its global citizens. Charity fundraising for SCIAF is always a big event during Lent within the school. Through events such as sponsored runs, a 24 hour fast and a slave auction the school raised a staggering £5100 in 2008. This brings their overall total raised for SCIAF since 1993 to a mega £51,587.80!
The school is also full to the brim of Fairtrade superheroes! The school has already met the grade to become a Fairtrade School but their good work didn’t stop when the award came through the post. They’ve continued to spread the Fairtrade message enthusiastically to all in the local community and beyond. Many of their Fairtraders won SCIAF’s Global Citizenship Award for their inspiring efforts!
Congratulations to all for your great efforts in promoting global citizenship!
