St Andrew’s Primary School, Falkirk – faith in action

This year the children and staff of St Andrew’s Primary in Falkirk have been busy promoting gospel values in a more active way.

Each month, pupils at the school have been a reflecting on a different value and, through assemblies and RME teaching, pupils have been able to develop their awareness and understanding of each value on a religious, global and school level.

For example, the children learned about ‘Dignity and Compassion’ and their knowledge and understanding helped the children to be more proactive in their fundraising efforts especially with SCIAF.

SCIAF’s John Sharp visited the school and spoke to all of the children about how their donation of £1,150, from last session, would have been used to help the earthquake victims in Haiti. John was also delighted to receive a cheque for an amazing £2,000 from the school’s Lenten fundraising campaign.
