St Anne's Primary have a Fairtrade tuck shop

St. Anne’s Primary in Hamilton is working hard to be recognised as a Fairtrade School. Recently the boys and girls of Primary 5 took responsibility for a fair trade tuck shop during Fairtrade Fortnight. The tuck shop sold £560 worth of products and raised another £62 by raffling a fairly-traded Easter egg.

Pupils from P1 to P7 have been learning about the importance of fair trade. Mrs Laurie taught lessons to each year group and a display in the school reminds the children of the fair trade products which are available in many shops.

St Anne's Primary School is SCIAF's School of the Week

During Lent the boys and girls of St. Anne’s have raised the sum of £600 for SCIAF. All classes collected money in the WEE BOX and each pupil paid £1 to come to school, ‘As You Please’. Our picture shows a P7 pupil with a splendid set of rainbow eyelashes.

Our Fairtrade Steering Group will now be deciding on a fair trade policy and thinking of new ideas for the coming year.
