Pupils from St Brigid’s joined millions of people worldwide to take a stand against poverty during the recent ‘Stand Up’ event, organised to coincide with the United Nations International Day For the Eradication Of Poverty. ‘The whole school stood up against poverty,’ said St Brigid’s Head Teacher Carol Scott. ‘Pupils on the SCIAF Stand Up Committee spoke to every class from P1 to P7 who all stood up against poverty.’
Over 116 million people took part in this years’ event - smashing last year's total of 43.7 million. People worldwide were being asked to physically stand up as a representation of their commitment to fighting global poverty.
Big thanks to all who STOOD UP – Love SCIAF x
