St John's High

Pupils at St John’s High in Dundee welcomed a very special guest recently – Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, the director of St Monica’s Girls Tailoring Centre in Gulu, northern Uganda.

She accepted a cheque on behalf of SCIAF and spoke to the young people about how their support is helping to transform the lives of former child soldiers, abducted during the Ugandan civil war.

St Monica’s provides free board and training in tailoring, cooking and business skills to around 300 young girls and former child soldiers. The money handed over on the day brought the schools fundraising for SCIAF last year to an impressive £4,500.
