When students at St Joseph’s College heard about the earthquake in Haiti they wanted to do something to help so they organised a ‘dress as you please’ day for the whole school.
Staff and pupils also held a number of sponsored events and raised a massive £1,730 for SCIAF’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
And they didn’t stop there…
During Lent, the school raised over £1,000 for SCIAF’s work across Africa, Asia and Latin America.
S1 classes were treated to an afternoon out of lessons for a Bunny Drive and S2 pupils lined up a whole mile of pennies.
Loads of classes held sponsored events, from sponsored silences to walking a mile with a bucket of water.
One class even had a sponsored technology fast – going without mobile phones, computers and TV to raise cash!
WEE BOXes were also placed in all registration classes and proved to be a great money spinner.
SCIAF’s John Sharp dropped in for a visit to thank everyone for all their hard work.
