St Peter’s Primary had the great idea of linking their SCIAF fundraising this year with the Homecoming Scotland theme. To celebrate Homecoming Scotland, pupils and staff were asked to dress as their favourite Scottish character – past or present. The Proclaimers, Our Willie, Chris Hoy, Andy Murray, Lulu, Nessie, and Greyfriars’ Bobby were all popular choices.
The Nursery children took part in a sponsored Homecoming March while the P1-3 pupils participated in the Edinburgh Tram Challenge and the P4-7 pupils had the choice of challenges – Swim with Nessie or Hurl the Haggis. At the end of the day all the children marched in a parade round the school in their Scottish costumes and gathered together to sing a SCIAF song with help of the “The Proclaimers".
