September 2007
Pupils from Williamwood High School finished the summer term on a real high by organising an exciting Fairtrade Conference for secondary schools in East Renfrewshire. The aim of the conference was to bring everyone together to find out what’s going on and share their great ideas.
The day included a presentation by SCIAF and updates from all the schools. There were workshops too led by the Rainbow Turtle Fairtrade shop in Paisley. Representatives from East Renfrewshire Council were also on hand to explain the work the authority was doing to support Fairtrade.
The great news is that there was loads happening in the schools and each school was keen to do even more to promote Fairtrade. Everyone decided that they wanted the sharing to continue and have set up a Fairtrade Bebo page to keep in touch. Congrats to all involved. Keep up the good work!
