This is an excellent pack for use within primary schools. It comprises colourful posters illustrating the 8 Millennium Development Goals (MDG), as set out by the G8 leaders, and an interactive DVD-ROM. It explains the MDG in simple terms suitable and accessible to primary children. The video clips are introduced by school children and provide a real life insight into the need for the goals as well as personalising the plight of others by focussing on individual stories. They also demonstrate the impact SCIAF and CAFOD have had in these areas. There are ideas for using the pack within the classroom for both lower and upper primaries encompassing various curricular areas including language, maths, art and technology. There are also ideas for school assemblies which could be led by the children themselves. This programme could be used during Lent to support fundraising efforts or throughout the year to raise awareness of the needs of others. It could be used alongside various topics throughout the Alive-O programme (e. g. MDG 1 with the Alive-O 1 topic on Food).
This is a flexible resource which can be used to enhance children’s awareness of the World they live in and encourage them to become responsible citizens with knowledge of this very topical subject.

Although the pack is not aimed at secondary pupils, I am very impressed with it (particularly the assemblies). There are plenty of ideas for S1/2, and the use of older primary kids in the videos helped. I'd certainly use this within RE, and I'm sure secondary schools would welcome a pack for the following reasons:
a) to use within RE/Citizenship education in S1/2
b) to understand what's being used/covered in the cluster primaries
c) to use this back as a transition pack from the primaries into secondaries as part of their global citizenship/RE education
The pack is quite substantial so there's potential for cross-curricular collaboration. For instance, the RE Dept could teach Millennium Development Goals 1 & 2 and Modern Studies could teach MDG goals 3 & 4 etc.
Very impressed with pack overall!
