Cardinal in New York

Cardinal Keith O’Brien has called for rich countries to take tough action on climate change.

The Cardinal was representing SCIAF at United Nations climate change talks in New York.

He met with the leaders of 15 different countries including Kenya, Guatemala and Brazil to talk about how climate change is affecting people in poor communities and what can be done to help.

He also met the head of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon and spoke to Ed Miliband, the politician in charge of the UK’s climate change policy.

World leaders will meet in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, in December to agree how best to tackle the issue of climate change.
