Daisa is just one of the many children in Haiti who have clean water, toilets and showers, thanks to you.
Six months after the earthquake, we are still working with our partner, Caritas Haiti, to help people who lost their homes. Hundreds of thousands of men, women and children like Daisa are living in cramped, makeshift camps in and around the capital city, Port-au-Prince.
Without clean water to drink and cook with, proper toilets, and places to wash, disease can quickly spread in these overcrowded camps. But thanks to everyone in Scotland who gave money to our Haiti Earthquake Appeal, we are helping people to stay healthy.
Last week, Caritas gave out hygiene kits at Delmas 68 camp, where Daisa and her family now live. Each kit contains soap, towels, a toothbrush and toothpaste. Thanks to you, Daisa’s camp also has toilets, showers and clean, safe drinking water.
SCIAF has been working in Haiti for over 20 years. With your support, we will continue working with communities to help them rebuild their country in the months and years to come.
