Hunger in Ethiopia

SCIAF is sending £50,000 to help millions of men, women and children who are going hungry because of a food crisis in Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian government has said that 6.2 million people need emergency food.

Years of drought have caused wells and rivers to dry up and fields of crops to die leaving many people hungry and thirsty.

Money sent by SCIAF will be used to bring emergency water supplies to some of the worst affected areas and provide families with seeds so that they can grow more food.

It will also be used to help local people build dams which trap precious rain water so that drought can be avoided in the future.
