Robin Hood Tax

SCIAF has joined a merry band of men and women from across the country to call for the Robin Hood Tax.

We’re asking the UK Government to add a tiny tax to big banking transactions. This would not affect ordinary high street banking, just the really big stuff – like when bankers move millions of pounds from one account to another, and then quickly back again, in order to make a profit.

The Robin Hood Tax could raise billions of pounds every year. We’d like some of that money to be used in the fight against global poverty and to help people in poor countries adapt to the deadly effects of climate change.
